Provision of heat currently contributes around a quarter of all UK greenhouse gas emissions and will take a concerted effort from government, regulator and industry to decarbonise. For the first time ever, the majority of power generation came from low carbon sources in 2017, in contrast only 4.5 per cent of total buildings heat demand came from low carbon heat sources.

A holistic approach to decarbonisation will enable the integration of increasingly low carbon power sources into decarbonisation efforts through electrification of heat and transport. With more than eighteen years experience in the electrification of heating systems utilising renewable energy technologies such as Air & Ground Source Heat Pumps, we are ideally placed to provide guidance to an organisation looking to delivery Demand Side Response (DSR) services through heat generating technologies. DSR is where energy users change their electricity consumption patterns in response to a signal or incentive from the network operator. The ability to tap into flexibility sources ensures power supply and demand are matched, that the grid is not overloaded and that supplies are at the correct voltage and frequency across the network.
